Utah is known for odd weather. If you don't like it, just wait 5 minutes. But when a winter starts dry, we begin to worry - because what they ski on in the winter, we drink in the summer. And it's been dry. Dry. Dry.

We started with a decent storm at the beginning of November, and everyone thought we were in for a great ski season... and then nothing. And more nothing.

Yesterday a winter storm rolled in - Alta ski resort picked up 11 inches for a base of 42", still well below where it should be, but enough to give some decent skiing.

We're all just praying that we'll get enough for our water needs in the summer.

Lunch today was Crash Hot Potatoes:

Simple recipe, and I'm delighted at how they turned out. *Belch*

Got some Christmas shopping done yesterday, found cheap (but very attractive) cards at Big!Lots, the amount they charge in most stores for cards is nothing less than extortion. $5.00 for a box of 30 cards instead of $16.00 for 8. I bought 4 boxes - should be enough for all my friends this year. Picked up a nice jingle-bell star for my door as well, and some wrapping paper. I love this time of year.
