That's just how we are...

1) Sit in a chair
2) Lift your right foot, and move it in a clockwise circle.
3) Now draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction, and there's not a thing you can do about it. I suspect with practice - like rubbing your head and patting your belly, etc. - you could overcome this tendency, in the same way that there is no physiological reason you can't go wall-eyed... but it's a very uncanny feeling.
