Posting for no good reason

Geez I hate computers sometimes. Odd sentiment for someone who's made his bread and Vegemite for over 30 years by working with them...
And thus began my livejournal escapade, December 8, 2006. I used to be a very diligent journal keeper, and then life came along and very little got recorded except when I was traveling. Given the way things have turned out, that's probably just as well - most of my journaling now needs to be redacted since most of it was about a relationship that no longer exists.
But joyous tidbits there are, scattered around here and there - kids' first words, their joys and triumphs and challenges and fails, good things that happened to me along the way, good friends met and dined with, strange countries visited, important work accomplished. So no, into the fire they do not go, until I have broken the bones thereof and sucked out the substantial marrow...
