American: TGI Friday's Rockslide Pie. It was a creamy cheesecake covered in chunks of fudge-nut brownie, caramel, chocolate fudge and Macadamia nuts, topped with hot caramel, and it was to die for. Literally. And it would have been worth it. (R.I.P. - discontinued some time ago by some gibbering corporate shirt whose corpus callosum had ceased to function. "Hmm, what's our most popular dessert? Oh, yeah, Rockslide Pie. Well, let's discontinue that one - it's sure to increase business! Fuh fuh fuh fuh fuh...")
European: Sachertorte. Still available, still food of the Gods. Especially at the Hotel Sacher in Vienna. Wonder if I can afford a ticket...

Probably Japanese. Their cuisine goes far beyond sushi, and most of it's a lot healthier than what Murrica has to offer. Not to mention that when it's done right, every dish is a bleeding work of art...

Friends, not really. At peace, yes.
My dad was toxic and abusive, but talented and witty. 20 years after his passing, I find myself missing him and wishing I had another chance to cultivate a relationship, now that I'm in a totally different head (& heart) space. Mom's 93 and well-advanced in her long, slow walk into the shadows, but I spend as much time with her as I can. There's too little quality time in life to spend it holding grudges for past offenses, real or imagined. She had an amazing career and I respect her ability, tenacity and determination.
