The morning after

The election is over. What will happen, will happen. I'll be watching all of our elected officials for results, not rhetoric. But I do not fear for our nation, for the strength of a representative democracy resides in its people.

Regardless of what is going on in Washington, the lives of our people will be improved the fastest by the efforts of individuals who are willing to step up and make a difference. One Martin Luther King, Jr. impacts far more lives than a hundred dime-a-dozen politicians of any flavor.

May we be worthy of the freedoms which we have, and fight to preserve them.

I'm hoping the Dems remember what they went through at the hands of the Repubs, and decide not to play payback. Remember when the Dems couldn't hold meetings in the Capitol, because the Repubs wouldn't let them have meeting rooms big enough to hold everyone? That kind of tacky shin-kicking crap. That isn't going to help anyone. Let's hope they've learned better manners, at least.

I would add a resounding "a-meyn!" to that wish.
