Trust me, having a car especially needing one is a good way of going into and staying in debt.

Full no claims and insurance = £550. No insurance? even if undriven, they'll find it (auto plate recognition from camera cars) take it and cube it.
Tax? £220 unless you have a new low emission (ie designed to show low CO2)
And that's before you drive an inch. My drive to work is about 250miles per week, about £50 - in fuel.

If you can do without a car, do.

And that's before you see the "no user servicable parts inside" sticker under the bonnet.
