I was thinking more of quotes from popular media. Seeing "The cake is a lie!" 25 times in a year is 24 times too often. And can't a guy say "Now I know" without having someone else evoke G.I. Joe?

One that gets up my nose is, "Sorry, I just couldn't help myself."

Then there's all those collocations that always mean the exact opposite of what the speaker pretends they mean:
"I don't mean to be rude, but..."
"No offense, but...."
"With all due respect,..."
"I'm not racist, but..."

What's that? Why yes, as a matter of fact, when I grow up I do want to be a grumpy old fart.
