To [livejournal.com profile] bayliss and [livejournal.com profile] fearciuil:

Or in the vernacular, "Bless me, for I have sinned."

It's time to have a long chat in the confessional, so I can walk around with a clear conscience.

[livejournal.com profile] bayliss posted a snippet about Sverre Hansen's memorial at Findagrave.com, and at that point the light went on.

These guys are the real deal. I had no clue.

As you may remember, I haven't had a TV for over 10 years, so I'm no longer in touch with much of popular culture, except for what I glean off the net. TV shows, however, tend to stay off my radar as more or less irrelevant.

I thought "Deadliest Catch" was just a show.

Well, my hat's off to them - what an incredible way to make a living, and to be able to deal with the fame at the same time. It all of a sudden explains the drooling. Huge respect to them!

Yeah, these Norske fiskere are impressive, and I'm a new fan.

I shall now eat some okra as penance...

You're braver than the "Dear Captain" Who will not touch Lutefisk.

I heard from my friend though that the smell of it being cooked is enough to fry off one's nose hairs and kill brain cells.

Can't swear to that - all that I know is that what I had served to me in Oslo was outstanding.

I'm sure it was quite good.

my friend also says the "Norwegian cannonballs" are also quite good.. It sounded like potatos boiled in Pork Shank juice and then made into balls. I don't know but I'm Irish and anything with potato sounds good to me. :)
