Not as ominous at it sounds... but the bottom line was a delightful meal at Buckhorn's Grill down by the waterfront. I enjoyed a tri-tip sandwich with au jus and a salad, followed by some good craic. And Sleepy John was a most gracious host. A charge de révanche!

In the last couple of months, I've been friended on LJ by three people I don't know, all with Russian pages. The latest was "harriescheidt". Now that's a linguistic pun all it's own, if you will... and not entirely inapropos!

"harriescheidt"'s bio reads (when translated with Babelfish): It caught fire behind the scenes. Clown jumped out to warn public. They solved, that it jokes, and give to applaud. It repeats - even more furious enthusiasm. It surrenders to me, hour will strike, and peace will collapse with overall delight among clever fellows, who imagine, what also this is - buffoonery.

That looks like the crap they were blasting out some time ago, to obfusticate baysian spam filters, before the technology took the next step.

It's way too fishy to me. "ban_set" from the command console took care of these three - I don't know what they're up to, but it can't be good. All of the bios contain the same type of garbage, so I know it's not just random people in Russia looking to expand their friends network.

Given that most phishing scams originate in the former USSR, I want none of these people anywhere near my Livejournal account.
