While watching "Ensign Ro" this afternoon during lunch, we were interrupted by a dancing salesman from T&B Advantage. No disrespect intended, but I have no other way to describe this gentleman's routine. This blog post describes an almost identical encounter from 2007... five years ago, and they're still at it and still out there.

Same towel, same marker, same wire brush on my stoop, same $45.00 per bottle cleaner that you could buy for a buck at Dollar Tree. Flattery, non-stop talking, humor (scripted), high-pressure tactics, and a liberal dose of guilt thrown in, implying that if I don't buy, I don't give a rat's south-40 for the poor and disadvantaged of Detroit.

When I asked for a brochure, the gentleman told me his company charged him $10.00 for each one. Um... I don't think so. I sell Usana products, and yes, we have to buy our sales tools, but not at that price.

I didn't buy. He was visibly pissed, but remained polite. I suspect his routine will generate him a few sales here in my sleepy southern Utah neighborhood. After he left, I did a bit of research and discovered that there is more than one concernabout the company.

I need to get me one of those "No Soliciting" signs for my door.
