Moments. They're all we get.
Some things are so mundane as to defy description, but deserve to be recorded.
This morning I woke up after a good night's sleep, without having awakened once during the night. That's unusual in itself. After the obligatory bleary-eyed stumble to the habakari, I slipped back into bed for a few more minutes to come to my senses, and had an unusually good stretch.
At that moment it occurred to me: I wasn't in any pain. Anywhere. El Shaddai is great!
My sprain was all gone.
I couldn't feel the arthritis in my spine.
My knees didn't hurt.
My ankles didn't hurt.
I didn't hurt anywhere.
For about five minutes I reveled in this, and then my back started its usual complaining, "You've been in this position too long!"
But for five minutes, I was in Heaven. I'll take it. What a great way to start the day.
