The nuclear-scarred "monster" in "Terror from the year 5,000" gave me the creeps night and day for years. Of course, I was only 7 or so when I saw it...

Not much to look at now, but I thought she was lurking in every closet at the time...

Well, there are some things that no longer scare me at all, but I know perfectly well why they used to scare me. Like the vacuum cleaner. I made sure never to have my feet near the floor when it was on. (The dustbuster seemed harmless enough, tho.) Kinda fitting for a canid, eh?

My main other fear at age 5 was of large construction equipment, a.k.a. "monsters."

I'm not sure I had any back then.
I felt pretty safe in the little world my parents created for me, safe with the limits they put on me, safe and fairly confident with almost everything.

Now, however, is a different story...
