Hitherto unseen spam technique... but not very effective

Receiving reams of "Thank you for signing up" or "Confirmation required to activate your membership" spams in my Gmail inbox.

One of them address me,

"Dear fARTFACE,
Thank you for signing up for a free trial of Constant Contact Email Marketing!"

Gee, even if I had requested a free trial, this would make me think twice about using their system.

Looks like they were trying to be subtle about the first F, as if it would have been completely appropriate to call you ARTFACE.

That wasn't from ConstantContact; they're a reputable e-mail distributor. I know--I use them almost daily at work. Sounds like they were a copycat, sort of like those 'notifications' you get from 'Facebook.'
