I've got the secondhand smokers cough, but what knackered my lungs was WHOOPING COUGH at age 35 ... took 4 weeks to diagnose because you don't get whooping cough at age 35....was working through those 4 weeks and then got 2 weeks off to get better. I still can't hack or huark like most people can.
This is a good topic - I'm getting some really interesting replies and it certainly raises the passions....
