While attending ComicCon 2009 in New York, my computer bag was ripped off while I was conducting an interview. Thinking about the catastrophe in Australia, it didn't take me long to realize that the loss was insignificant.

However, in my case, there was a happy ending. That evening, I got a call from the State Police (who run the lost and found in the Javits Center), telling me that my bag had been turned in. Now, this begs the question... was my bag actually picked up by mistake? Come on, folks - this is New York. Chance of that, <2%. Possible, but not likely. What was much more probable was that the thieves were disgusted by the fact that there was no electronic equipment to hock and just dumped it somewhere.

I was resigned to replacing the replaceable, which would have cost me about $300.00, if you added it all up. I was resigned to having lost my sketchbook, which was irreplaceable. So I was most grateful to have saved the expense, and to have recovered the memories.

I'm giving God the praise - to me, it was a true miracle.
