theoldwolfWell, against my better judgment but in total harmony with my stated purpose, I have committed to staff a leadership camp for teenagers at the Tyalgum Ridge Retreat (we think that's where it will be) in the vicinity of Brizzbin, in January of 2010. When it's warm down there, and cold up here - perfect time to go. And since I'm making the long journey, I'll be staying a while longer to see a few things and a few people.
Ozzies, mark your calendars and lay in mighty stocks of Vegemite, roo, camel, emu and barramundi. And whatever other strange things you wild and untamed folks eat. Camp's from 1-12 to 1-17, and I'm thinking I'll prolly stay a couple of weeks longer. Maybe we could do a little OzzieCon at some location central to Sydney, Dubbo and Newcastle?
Still figuring out how I'm going to get around. Maybe rent a motorcycle? Ride in the pouch of a roo?
Lots of time to figure that out, while I'm looking for a decent fare to Brisbane and back.

Date: 2009-08-06 08:53 am (UTC)If you come in via Sydney and make your way 2 hours north I will have a car you can use for the duration of the trip. There always seems to be a spare kicking around here somewhere :-D
in fact there's cheap direct flights to Newcastle from Brisbane, I can just pick you up from the airport. You won't be driving a rental from Murwillumbah to Sydney hehe
With the use of a car and a few days travel (and a lot of petrol money)you can visit Western Plains Zoo, The Dish or the Warrumbungles. (but probably not all three unless you like driving for a week)
AussieCon sounds like a darn fine plan to me. Find me somewhere I can light a fire and I'll make damper and a kangaroo roast with white and orange sweet potato and veggies. mmm now I'm hungry
