With the official announcement by 3D Realms last May that Duke Nukem Forever was halting development, now what am I going to look forward to?

DN3D was the only 1PS that I ever played.

Wait, I thought it had already been cancelled?

Well, there's always Tetris-Power... ;)
(1PS? Is that a one-person shooter or a PlayStation 1 game?)

"First-person shooter". Your first guess was right.

It was cancelled back in May. I was late getting the news.

I had a copy of Duke Nuk'em 3D Atomic, but not as you know it. It was a developer copy; instead of the space station, Duke travelled through ancient Greece (complete with muttering oracles). And instead of a cityscape, Duke went through Area 51. I got it from a friend, carved onto 23 floppy disks. Alas, I tossed it out when the software could no longer run on my too-advanced sound hardware (and it wouldn't run without sound).

It was a fun little game. You should try Portal, too. I bet you'd enjoy it every bit as much as I did. Just ask [livejournal.com profile] flashguardian13. He watched me play the entire game on his computer.

I've completed Portal, which was indeed awesome. DN3D was the only 1PS I've every played.

Aside from those, the Myst sequence was excellent, but I ran out of time to play them and never got through the fourth one. So I have two more in that sequence if I can ever find the time. I tried URU for a while, but their servers were so slow I couldn't stand it. Apparently neither could anyone else, because they imploded.

[Edit]: The DN3D I had included Area 51 as a "secret level". The Greece thing sounds cool. Too bad you don't still have it.
