Most of these aren't really weird to me, just niche players. How to Good-bye Depression is plain enough in subject matter; only the verbing is unorthodox, and the author name leads me to suspect Engrish. But The Platypus of Doom and Other Nihilists is weird on purpose.

The book on hanging seems interesting.... I recall a book by someone who'd worked as an executioner. The Home Office had a list of acceptable operatives and would send them a message telling them when they were required....

The Newgate calendar (3 vols Panther books!) lists one practitioner who ended up strung up.....
Strung up / twisted / turned off / dancing the Tyburn jig.....
plenty of slang terms from the 18/19th century Tyburn tree days ....
