I own "It's a Wonderful Life", "Mr. Kruger's Christmas", and "Miracle on 34th Street." I can watch these any time I like, and they're about the only holiday shows that I enjoy re-watching. I don't have a hypnogourd, which is good - because if I were to see the stop-motion "Frosty" even one more time, I think I'd gouge my eyes out with a rotary phone.

I guess the Christmas movie I'd be most likely to see again is Scrooge (1970). The one I haven't seen yet that I'm most likely to is Christmas Vacation, followed by the current incarnation of A Christmas Carol.

For an all-time favorite... eh, by virtue of how many times I've seen it, A Muppet Family Christmas. But I'm kinda glad my parents abandoned the VHS and can't get it on Netflix, because the annual viewings were a little embarrassing when we resumed the tradition in 2000.

Muppet Christmas for the epic win!

We treat the VHS gently, probably should switch to DVD....

My all time favorite christmas show has go to be Nightmare Before Christmas it's non-demominational and really can't offend anybody and I enjoy the music. :-)and a Charlie Brown Christmas was quite enjoyable. :-)

I can't say I enjoyed any of the ones you have listed due to the nature at which they were forced upon me.

It's a Wonderful Life is a good picture... OOO LOOK IT'S OUT NOW IN COLOUR *BLARG* I have the Alastair Sim "Scrooge" in the colour version that the Sun gave away (Also the B/W original, The George C Scott, the Patrick Stewart, the Seymour Hicks, the Michael Caine, the Scrooge McDuck, the Albert Finney... yep, an Ebenezer obsessive, me).
If I had my will, all those fools who colourise the carefully planned monochrome pictures, those creations of shade and contrast, would be daubed like a circus Joey with Woolworths emulsion paint and buried with a running noose of nitrocellulose about their necks. Because, you see, once a kuller version is available it gets used for all occasions because TV is kuller and kids want kuller and no-one watches blakanwhaht no more. And the companies clear the archives of blakanwhaht, and the art of painting in light is lost.

I've never seen the stop motion "Frosty". Got the "Rudolph" though.
"It's A Wonderful Life" has had a charmed life, gaining its popularity almost entirely from being shown at this time of year on TV. No shame in that. The main street of Bedford Falls is iconic, now. The plot is so well known it's even been used on "Tiny Toons".... and it carries a valuable message - that we all have a bearing on the world about us, we all have a starring role in the great feature "Life on Mother Eatrh" even if we only see part of the script....and don't appreciate how pivotal to the denoument we are/were.

"Rudolph" is just as bad, just as bad. It was great the first time I saw it... but once is enough. Aye for "Peace on Earth"... that was a great short.

Black and white photography was an art form. In much the same way as the studios managed to shut down the film editing concerns, those colorized version should also have been prohibited. Thinks I.

We have "White Christmas" and "Holiday Inn", our two primary staples of Christmas viewing.

Aside from those, I enjoy watching "The Muppet Christmas Carol" over the other versions I've seen (including the Disney version and the one with Alastair Sim).

Occasionally I like watching the Rankin-Bass stop-motion "Rudolph", "Here comes Santa Claus", and "The Year Without Santa Claus", they have a nice feel to them.
(movies I try to avoid include "Ebbie", "It's a Wonderful Life", and a couple others, mostly due to how many times they're repeated on TV around this time of year...)
