No Red Rubber Ball in SanFrancisco

Too much early morning mist...

But I still think it's gonna be alright. Slept the night through without any Tylenol, had a bit of sweats in the morning but no aches or pains this AM, so I'm definitely on the mend. Praise G-d! Should actually be able to enjoy the day's activities.

The Catholic part of my history is buried deep within the vault of time, but I have a chance to hear Mass in Gaelic today, probably worth the time just for the cultural experience.

Next best thing

Well, the cake may be untouchable but I can at least make sure my weighted companion cube gets some. Not 'shopped, btw.

Party's over

Just finished up the Deireiadh Seachtaine Gaeltachta, the 10th annual Irish language immersion weekend. First one I'd ever gone to, even though I've been studying Irish for over 20 years.

Wonderful experience, just wonderful. To hear the language spoken by natives, and be able to interact with learners of all levels was invigorating and challenging. There were four levels, and I was put in level 3 where I felt very stretched but very fulfilled. All the teachers were outstanding. The food was excellent, the craic was energetic, I got to hear a Mass in Gaelic, and made many new friends. I only wish it could have lasted longer.

The Ocean Park Motel where I stayed. A delightful, refurbished 1930's Deco motel, more like a home than anything else. Peaceful and comfortable.

The Irish Cultural Center where the event was held.

Most of the class.

The teachers.

I plan on coming to next year's event if at all possible. It was worth every effort to get here. Bhí sé an-mhaith ar fad!
