Doc Slap: Uh, I mean, Doc Rat

Whoops. I guess you should never joke about Secret Bunny Business... sounds pretty serious.

Dreamworks: Don't talk to us.

<Mini-rant>

Went to the How To Train Your Dragon website today, as a followup to having seen the movie. Was confronted with Flash programming or some other coding obscenity that took 45 seconds to load on a broadband connection. Thought, "to Pluto with this."

Thought I'd mention this to Dreamworks, and encountered exactly the same bad-web-page nonsense at their home site. Yes, guys - we know that animation is your business. And, when I come to your web page, I want content and not cutesy-cutesy. If you want to show off your stuff, provide a separate area where I can go to see it, and then I'll expect the requisite megabytes of data.

And I'm mentioning this here, because they don't have a consumer response email address. Yes, it's a choice - but it seems like making it hard for your consumers to send feedback is probably Not a Good Idea.

Writer's Block: Back to the future

[Error: unknown template qotd]
999 Channels, and there's *still* nothing on (to plunder a line from "The Kid").

At 12, it's hard to have perspective. My net worth is currently negative, but I'm healthy, have three absolutely awesome kids, have accomplished a lot of good, and the prospects for the second half of my life are bright and shiny.

I don't know if a pre-teen me would be pleased or not, but I'm immensely satisfied.

The ultimate indignity, or the ultimate treat?

Chocolate Haggis

Given the fact that it's not really haggis, but a concoction of herbs and spices designed to imitate the flavor, I'd have to try it before I passed judgment. It could be good, or it could be something else. I'll keep my eye out, though, if I can ever get to the other side of the pond.
