<Mini-rant>

Went to the How To Train Your Dragon website today, as a followup to having seen the movie. Was confronted with Flash programming or some other coding obscenity that took 45 seconds to load on a broadband connection. Thought, "to Pluto with this."

Thought I'd mention this to Dreamworks, and encountered exactly the same bad-web-page nonsense at their home site. Yes, guys - we know that animation is your business. And, when I come to your web page, I want content and not cutesy-cutesy. If you want to show off your stuff, provide a separate area where I can go to see it, and then I'll expect the requisite megabytes of data.

And I'm mentioning this here, because they don't have a consumer response email address. Yes, it's a choice - but it seems like making it hard for your consumers to send feedback is probably Not a Good Idea.

They probably think an animation company without a fancy site is like a major general without a firm handshake. As for being hard to contact, that gets more tempting the more famous you are. I wonder if George Lucas skips 99+% of his email.
