Yeah, that one.

I posted about it here.

Now I have conquered it.

Getting rid of it in Vista or Windows 7 is as simple as making the following registry tweak using Regedit:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main]"AlwaysShowMenus"=dword:00000000"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\MainDisableFirstRunCustomize"=dword:00000001

You may have to create the second key if it's not already there.

No love, Microsoft. I never took your hqiz tour, just on general principles. You would have been much more intelligent just to include a "No, Thank You" button.

Hustling back from California, putting together a memorial reception for my mother was made infinitely easier by the good will of my aunt, Ruth Draper Crockatt. She arranged for a buffet at the Salt Lake Country Club, and we were able to get the info into Mom's obituary. We had a small but intimate turnout, and a number of people showed up whom I hadn't seen forever; also, my first boss from the Church Translation department came to pay his respects, which was surprising and appreciated.
