Iran is so powerful today that no country would dare attack it, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday during an annual army parade. "Iran's army is so mighty today that no enemy can have a foul thought of invading Iran's territory," the Iranian leader said, according to state media. (CNN)

Over a period of ten years, Enver Hoxha built a complex of 750,000 one-man concrete bunkers across Albania, a country of 3 million inhabitants, to act as look-outs and gun emplacements along with chemical weapons, to protect his piss-ant country from invasion by the depraved capitalist nations. As it turned out, he bankrupted his country for naught. There was nothing there to invade but impassable mountains, an impoverished, broken people, and a lot of goats.

Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. -Santayana.

North Korea is busy making the same stupid mistakes Albania did, bankrupting the country out of paranoia...

Ahmadinejad, though, does have a point, even if he is overstating things for domestic consumption. Iran is certainly no backwater like Albania or North Korea -- they have 75 million people and the 16th or 17th biggest economy in the world.

I agree with those who point out that Iran has gotten a raw deal in recent history. The Persians are bright and creative, and Iran used to be one of the jewels of the middle east, along with Lebanon.

The legacy of Islam in general, both Shi'a and Sunni, is slavery, war, inhumanity, oppression and women's abuse. That said, while I would like nothing better than to see the Islamic loons thrown out on their rearward parts, I stand with those in Iran who are struggling for representative government, be it Islamic or secular. As for Ahmadinejad himself, he needs to be lowered slowly into this (http://www.influks.com/post2201.html).

They gots OIL. That enough makes them a legitimate target for regime change.

And it's a darn shame. I'd love to be free of their economic tyranny, and be able to tell the bloated, pedophilic OPEC goat-rapers where they can stick their oil. We need alternative energy sources desperately.

Here's a real photo of the Iranian army marching in ghilli suits in their National Army Day parade:

The Iranian regime is in desperate need of a paranoia tag.

I read once that most Iranians see the current regime as a government of outsiders. Maybe one day things will hit the fan good and hard for the clueless brigade and the country can start over.
