Culture? America has a culture? Dang, the Ambassador might just go hungry. Seriously, though - we're such a melting pot, there's no real way to nail down a meal that screams "America"! It would be so dependent on region and socioeconomic status.
Kick-ass chili, or some heavenly barbecue, with beer might be good in the south. A hearty diner breakfast is pretty standard farm fare. In the west, it would probably have to be grain-fed beef with mashed potatoes and gravy, followed by apple pie and two cups of clear, hot coffee...

Date: 2010-04-25 08:27 am (UTC)The only meal we eat fairly frequently don't really have a name, so much as a description (tomato sauce and pasta), and probably isn't quite Canadian enough.
I suppose Hawaiian pizza wouldn't really count...
