A federal appeals court has struck down government rules restricting the words allowed on TV. The liberal media scores another victory for crudeness, and continues to hack away at the foundations of decency with a vengeance.

I am more gratified each day that television is no longer a part of my life.

To be honest I'd prefer crudity and nudity on my TV than the graphic violence that US TV plays without a second thought.

I've never understood the offensiveness of partial nudity.

Cultural thing. I could do without the graphic violence, too, since you mention it.

I'd agree with that.

Offensive language and nakedness has never bothered me. But I'm also much younger and desensitized as well.

I could do without the violence though and the Kardashians, Real Housewives, The Hills, and Wife swap. :-)

And I would love to hear my Captains Uncensored... on DVD in my own home. :-)

My favorite line is from a comedian Tommy Tiernan:

The English language is full of rules and restrictions and I'm an Irish soul and it's such a more fluid thing. It's like a brick wall between you and me and 'Fuck' is my chisel.

This is one case where I support legal freedom but dread the upshot. Or would if I still watched TV.

I also am of two minds concerning this. It's ironic what does get permitted to air, yet I've seen a number of old classic cartoons get censored in the name of political correctness when there was no harm to them at all.

Methinks someone needs to straighten out their collective priorities!
