In Memoriam

I never served. Two of my mother's brothers did - one lost his life on the Enoura Maru in Takao Harbor, the other served honorably in the Navy. My thanks to all who ever wore the uniform, and more especially to those who died wearing it.

Mum always said Dad went over to Normandy, not that I recall him speaking about the war...
My grandfather was at Gallipoli, then in (what is now) Iraq. Wasn't peaceful back then, either.

Three of my grandparents served the military in some capacity; the other was too disabled, IINM. They have my respect and gratitude.
