Cockroaches give me the willies. On the other hand, if Tom Hanks can make friends with a soccer ball, or whatever it was, a living creature might just help one keep from going nuts. I'd probably make a pet of it for as long as it lived. There is not much worse than being absolutely alone.

Depending on the circumstances of the confinement, I might eat it. Or use its juices to write on the wall.
