My Daughter's First Graphic Novel

My daughter Fortunata is a superb artist, and entirely self-taught. An example of her work is this segment of a mural she painted at a friend's home:

Early on, though, she took a stab at illustrating on the computer. The following delightful story, which gives cracks me up every time I happen across it, was done using MacPaint on a Macintosh LC in about 1991.

I present it for your gratuitous reading pleasure, in the hopes that the artist will not be too mortified by a public display of her early work.

How old was Fortunata when she made TFoB? I'm guessing a preteen, and impressive for one. Even if Barney never shows that much white in his eyes.

Sometimes I want to wreck the early works my mom saves. Then I realize how often I wish a successful artist would show early works to reassure us that one can come a long way.

Medotter was about 10 when this happened - good estimation on your part!

This rather reminds me of a song that was published about that time period in the Denver Rocky Mountain News, in an article about Barney hating:

0/~
I hate you, you hate me
Let's hang Barney from a tree
With a knife in his back, and a rope around 'is head,
You'll find out, dear Barney's dead!

[EDIT] Gah! Those stupid PHPBB codes are killing my HTML-fu! [/EDIT]
