Dang, that's pretty scary. If you can't see the embedded video below, click here.

Think the driver might have survived?

I think China was the same country for another crash test I saw, in which only the left side of the vehicle was connecting. It plowed neatly forward until just short of the windshield, leaving the right side basically unblemished. An appalled forumite asked if it was made of heavy-duty aluminum. The truck above must be light aluminum.

Its actually a vw transporter. not chinese. this is from early euro crash testing experiments at 80 and 100kph. the data they gained was useless for obvious reasons and why standard tests are done at muck lower speeds. youtube people just ride the chinese crash test bandwagon.

Have you seen the RTA Crashlab video of the VB Commodore hitting the wall at 100kpk? 300kg of ballast, and no tail shaft. RTA was testing the wall. The number of anti-Chinese comments is astounding.

If you want to see true Chinese crash test fail, look at the Brilliance tests.

Yes indeed! I first saw that footage on grainy betacord at TAFE when I was an apprentice mechanic.

Weird. I looked around first and couldn't see anything to say that this was not a Chinese car. Well, they produce enough certifiable crap that I'm not worried.

If you do a search for volkswagen transporter crash test the original should still be there buried in the noise.
