Date: 2009-01-01 07:41 pm (UTC)Actually, I've always been impressed with the breadth of your tastes in literature, movies, plays and other forms of authorship... not to mention your awesome win of NaNoWriMo! You seem to have a way of finding the humorous and uplifting in every situation... seeing a junk-food store proprietor dozing at a register with "Valkyries" playing in the background... and noticing the irony in the situation - indicates open eyes and ears, and an awareness of the silliness and grandeur of the human condition. I always look forward to your posts... keep up the good work!

Date: 2009-01-02 02:50 am (UTC)And as for you, my gentle jackass... any man what can take things apart and put them together again (in working order!)... figure out what's wrong with some random piece of silicon by looking at squiggles on a screen... unashamedly love his mum and his sister and not care who knows... do nice things for other folks and graciously receive the odd kudos himself... appreciate old movies, and even have a working Betamax machine... love a cat... make a wicked sarnie out of short-dated pulled pork... believe in something greater than himself and try to be better each day than he was the previous one... that's a man what's more than OK in my book.

Date: 2009-01-03 10:33 pm (UTC)ROFL! Kathy should have been with medotter and me as we negotiated this 13.7 mile stretch of 89A in 6 inches of snow. Dark, no snow tires, about 15 MPH. It took us well over an hour of white-knuckle driving, but praise de Lawd, we made it safely. After that experience, Jones Mountain Road is bupkis. Although I wouldn't want to do it in those conditions.
Thanks for the kind words. And to fulfil the promise of the meme, you're a man who is
a) Proud of his convictions
b) dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people
c) a valiant servant in the kingdom of Christ
d) not afraid of driving more than 20 mph on West Virginia roads (50 Bonus points!)
e) and, when Kiyoshi comes around, funnier than all getout.
... to start with.
