Leave me a comment and I will reply with why I like you. If I don't know you, I'll either make something up or tell you why I like your LiveJournal. Please post this on your LiveJournal too, and I'll put you on the spot!

Well, I hope not! That mask makes you look quite ferocious! Image

Actually, I've always been impressed with the breadth of your tastes in literature, movies, plays and other forms of authorship... not to mention your awesome win of NaNoWriMo! You seem to have a way of finding the humorous and uplifting in every situation... seeing a junk-food store proprietor dozing at a register with "Valkyries" playing in the background... and noticing the irony in the situation - indicates open eyes and ears, and an awareness of the silliness and grandeur of the human condition. I always look forward to your posts... keep up the good work!

Anyone who voluntarily spent his summer shoveling sheep shit for the Kelloggs, just because they needed help in a bad time, is a man I'm proud to know.

Well! Shoveling crap goes a lot faster with a tractor and a blade, but yeah, I did have to do some hand work around the edges!

And as for you, my friend:

1. Imagination and a wicked sense of humor
2. A man who lends books [50 bonus points!]
3. Excellent taste in restaurants Groan Belch Groan
4. Rescues abused Greyhounds and loves them even when they have thermonuclear diarrhoea
5. Makes the best of working for the original Evil Empire
6. Loves his family
7. Builds boys into men
8. Knows where the good chocolate is to be had
9. Draws the Neolithic CTC without shame
10. Believes in a world that works for everyone

... and that's the short list!

Three friends do not a peerage make... but I'm grateful for what I have.

And as for you, my gentle jackass... any man what can take things apart and put them together again (in working order!)... figure out what's wrong with some random piece of silicon by looking at squiggles on a screen... unashamedly love his mum and his sister and not care who knows... do nice things for other folks and graciously receive the odd kudos himself... appreciate old movies, and even have a working Betamax machine... love a cat... make a wicked sarnie out of short-dated pulled pork... believe in something greater than himself and try to be better each day than he was the previous one... that's a man what's more than OK in my book.

Impressed with your drive and willingess to take heavy loads in school - your Tetris and Graphics work is very impressive. I liked that water well... Even as an old programmer from way back, I sort of maxed out at OOP and never got the hang of it... and then there's your willingness to help Kathy with her website - that earned you 100 Bonus Points right there!

Aha. Well, that's an easy one... you're brilliant. You can program in languages other people don't even know. And your music does unspeakable things to my brain...

I put this in the wrong journal, so I'm copy-pasting it over here.
I'm turning the meme back on you.

I like you because:

- you're clever and funny, and playful enough to enjoy others who are, too.

- five minutes before I met you in person (or knew your real first name, so I would know who was being referred to), when I poo-pooed the "dangerous over the mountain road", Kathy and Scott both turned to someone around the corner of the barn and out of sight, and called, "Oh, Chris!"

- you value the education of children as the most important factor for developing our future.

- you call me back from the edge when I'm ranting and screaming.

- most importantly, you aren't ashamed to have faith in God, and remind me to do the same.

ROFL! Kathy should have been with medotter and me as we negotiated this 13.7 mile stretch of 89A in 6 inches of snow. Dark, no snow tires, about 15 MPH. It took us well over an hour of white-knuckle driving, but praise de Lawd, we made it safely. After that experience, Jones Mountain Road is bupkis. Although I wouldn't want to do it in those conditions.

Thanks for the kind words. And to fulfil the promise of the meme, you're a man who is

a) Proud of his convictions
b) dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people
c) a valiant servant in the kingdom of Christ
d) not afraid of driving more than 20 mph on West Virginia roads (50 Bonus points!)
e) and, when Kiyoshi comes around, funnier than all getout.

... to start with.
