For me, "I need to talk to you" usually means somebody needs some information from me.
(probably as I've never been in anything even remotely resembling a serious relationship, and most of my interactions have been on a professional and/or educational level)

I have a sneaking suspicion that this may change as I get older...

*turns around and smashes a baseball bat into a small creature that had been attempting to sneak up on him*
