More "Colon Cleanse" dishonesty

A few days ago I posted "Açai, A Sigh, Assai!", a rant about the inescapable pitch for the Açai Berry/Colon Cleanse diet plan.

Here's a blatant example of the kind of criminal deception you see everywhere on the net these days:

Clicking on the ad takes you to a website that

1) Claims to be a source of independent research
2) Tells you how dangerous and scary colon cleanses are, and then
3) Encourages you to use their Resveratrol/Colon Cleanse diet plan.

People, get a grip!

Q: How do you know when a salesman is lying?
A: His lips are moving.

The internet has made theft by deception as common as sunrise and dew on the grass, and it makes me sad to think how many people are throwing away their money on false hopes and outright lies.

The fact that some people still, after all these years, attempt the Nigeria scam tells me that there's no shortage of new netizens who crawled out from under a log.

Truth. Add to that the fact that many people in my nation have less than a third-grade education and yet are permitted by law to spawn without a permit, not to mention interact in society as though they had half a brain, and we begin to understand the magnitude of the problem. The Enquirer, the Globe and the Star continue to sell like hotcakes...

No, that's where I live. I correspond with so many people who are outside my borders... uhm, our borders... that I have trained myself to that usage by default because I've gotten stung before.

Here in Utah, everyone says "The Church" and thinks nothing of it. I still slip on occasion - now I make sure I specify which church I mean, because Salt Lake is now less than 40% Latter-day Saints.

Really? Last I heard, the Latter-day Saints were growing faster than any other non-cult religion. Guess people are migrating.

Utah's population is growing more because of influx than internal growth; and the LDS Church is growing faster outside the US borders than inside. More than half the Church population is non-US.

My father keeps getting mailings on all those health scams, since he's obsessed with his supplements and vitamins (but not his diet, oddly enough). Some of them are absolutely laughable.
