Father's Day Festivities
Jun. 22nd, 2009 09:25 amIn the morning, went our local amusement park with the family, and had a wonderful time.
Krystal may not be able to enjoy her sandwich, but Kirsten loves her watermelon!
My son Courtney, his wife Mindy, and little Katelyn ride the steam train.
That evening, my younger son took me to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner, and I had a killer salad with one of their crab cakes, plus a piece of chocolate cake the size of Rhode Island at the end groan belch groan, after which we went and saw "Up" in 3D.
What a sweet film. Like many others, I became very misty in the first few minutes of the film - dirty trick, that - and enjoyed the entire ride. Little Ellie was a hoot - her depiction is very much how I imagined Peewee in Heinlein's Have Space Suit, Will Travel. The 3D aspect added a lot to the film based on the nature of some of the aerial shots. It was very well done.
Came home exhausted, and feeling totally fêted as a father. That's fêted, not "fetid".
It was a wonderful day.
