Dear Amazon: I don't think so
Dec. 7th, 2009 08:27 pmAmazon.com has this little device where you can enter a PayPhrase and make purchases across the web without divulging your Credit Card number.
OK, sez I, not a bad idea. So I enter a phrase that absolutely NO ONE could have possibly ever chosen before this time, worlds without end: "Antediluvian Aardvark Hqiz".
And Amazon tells me, "Important Message: Sorry! The Payphrase you chose is no longer available. We have some similar suggestions for you, or you can enter your own phrase below."
The only requirements are "PayPhrase must be at least 2 words long, no numbers or special characters". Which conditions I dutifully met. For fun, I entered some other phrases that I knew were unduplicatable as they contained other words that I have made up. Also no go.
So I guess this is a feature I'm not going to be using...
