Everything can be taken from a man but one thing; the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.

- I believe in a God who has a plan for me, and who can see my ultimate potential far better than I can.
- I believe in the principle of free agency - every moment is a choice, and every choice has prices and benefits.
- I believe in karma to the extent that what I put out into the universe comes back to me. If I put out positive energy and focus on positive things, that's what I get in exchange, from delightfully surprising sources.
- Lastly, I believe that things happen. Good things, bad things, indifferent things. I posted previously about contrasting attitudes in the face of catastrophe; it's the meaning I assign to these things that matters, and there, as in all places, I am free to choose.
